Ratha Charithiram just as the title depicts the vengeances between two families. Films like this grace the screens very often but RGV brings in the real life incidents which happened five years back in Andhra Pradesh. The film brings the dramatic aspects along with action and family sentiments in a unique way.

Ratha Charithiram Story

Pratap Ravi (Vivek Oberoi) will be on his way to seek revenge of the politicians and his family for the brutal murder of his father and brother. He will soon become the most powerful man with the support of Sivaji Rao (Shatrughan Sinha). And no one will dare to pass his way until Suryanarayana (Suriya) comes his way. Suriya son of Narasimha Reddy is the main enemy of Pratap who plans to kill him, but luckily he escapes the attempt. Pratap and his followers starts research in identifying Suriya and his team. Meanwhile by giving shock to Pratap, Suriya surrenders himself in the court of law and will be prisoned. From here the actual movie starts where Suriya sketches to kill Pratap. In the prison Muddu Krishna gets attracted to Suriya and he starts supporting him in each and every plan. The rest of the film will part on how Suriya plans to kill Pratap.

Highlights:

Suriya’s performance in this violence thriller is very much outstanding and cannot be explained in just few words. Priyamani playing the role of his wife did well.

The pre interval part has some slow scenes which will bring the growth of Pratap (Vivek Oberoi). Vivek played very well by keeping himself highlighted with his exceptional performance.

Radhika Apte as Vivek’s wife was a good fit.

Kannada actor Sudeep doesn’t have much scope but did justice to his role.

The powerful dialogues in the film are extraordinary and all the credit goes to Gnanavel.

Gautham Menon’s voiceover is one more interesting facet as he narrates the first 20 minutes of the film.

RGV brings in the strongness in certain scenes, but finally proved himself in promoting non-violence with non-stop violence.

By word of mouth the film will surely yield best results as the weekend is heading. A film can be watched with families as it brings in a meaningful message.

Bottom line: The film is something that audiences have to watch and experience by themselves.
